I still don’t have my little sewing machine back so yet so no progress on the front, so instead I started on a bright idea I had the other day.
It involves a cumbersome stacks of old Sunday Life magazines {you know the free magazine that comes with Fairfax newspapers on a Sunday}. Well I have quite a horde of them. We shan’t go into the reasons why I have such a large horde of them. That’s another bright idea. I am slowing letting go this hording habit {can anyone say fire danger?} but I hadn’t quite parted with this stack yet.
So this week’s bright idea ~ “I know, I’ll make envelopes!”
The pages are a lovely paper stock, easily folded but flimsy with a lovely matte finish. And there are some quite pretty pages. So I made myself a template and got under way. I’m quite taken with the one of the bloke lying on the grass {except as an envelope it is upside down} and the pink fluffy slippers will be perfect for Mother’s Day. However, I’m going to be asking Hubby for some tips with the positioning and folding lark. {My spatial skills leave a lot to be desired}.
We have also been doing some housekeeping around here at the casa, updating the about page and adding a blogroll {all improvement suggested during the BYW class}. The blogroll is very much a WIP, so bear with me.
I have also set up a facebook page for 74 Lime Lane. Although I have to admit, still trying to figure out what it might be useful for. We’ll see.

A comment by Retromummy was the first mention of Paperklip that I apparently took any notice of it. Corrie mentioned she had picked up some sweet notebooks from their stall at the market.
Some clicking of links and further investigation shows we had been Blogging Your Way classmates for the past seven weeks {I had a feeling I hadn’t been paying attention in class} and Paperklip also had a mention in a recent Inside Out magazine. Where had I been?
Melinda Andersen is the creative force behind Paperklip, an Australian-based, paper-loving company, and she writes that decorative paper garlands are the house specialty but there are some pretty gift tags in the shop, too. One of the great things about Paperklip ~ it’s for little girls and boys.

Here we are waiting for the leaves to fall and rejoicing in autumn rains after a long, hot summer. But our northern hemisphere counterparts are bursting like the blossoms waiting for spring.
This week, poppytalk is hosting spring colour week. Check out the flickr group here. So it may be the wrong time if the year, but I thought I would join in anyway.
Today is bought to you by the colour pink.

I have featured marta’s work before, I loved her mini diary is an inspired idea. I recently came back across her blog and this time remembered to add it to my reader.
Marta, a graphic designer living in Idaho, has just finished a week long Blog + Business workshop, on her blog, which featured advice and tips from other bloggers with online businesses, and it was free.
Not only that, Marta features a great mix of design, home and inspiration. Her archives are an absolute treasure trove.
