cute comes in a tub

massagebabies

{See the picture here}

Reminiscent of something from an Anne Geddes calendar, these bubs are cooling down in tummy tubs filled with water after a baby massage class in the Netherlands. The “cooling down” segment is to simulate a womb-like environment.

Nothing like some cute bubs to make you smile at the start of a busy week. This picture made image of the day in several places around the world.

Speaking of Anne Geddes, her calendars filled with cute baby pics are now in their 20th edition. Her range also includes books and a clothing line. You can read more about her here

it’s not lime but it’s close

lemondelicious

This is what I whipped up on the weekend ~ lemon delicious pudding. Uses a couple of mixing bowls but is otherwise quite easy.

My recipe is from an old Australian Table magazine – I’m sure there are lots of others but this one is tried and trued for me. I even had the sense to bookmark it with a large piece of paper to find it easily amongst all the other cooking magazines.

You can download the recipe here. (file is a pdf – right-click and Save Target/Link as)

bicycle

The humble bicycle can be thing of rare beauty. A chic vintage bicycle makes me think of wicker baskets,  picnics and Paris. Check out this post by mrs french on sfgirlbybay for some blissful bicycle inspiration.

This is PANTONE® 14-0848 Mimosa. In case you didn’t know, this is the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2009 – a warm, engaging yellow that in this time of economic uncertainty and political change, provides optimism and expresses hope and reassurance. It is best illustrated by the flowers on the mimosa tree (right). According to Pantone, it is a versatile shade that co-ordinates well with any colour.

Check out this beautiful Willow china by W2 from Shop Until. The black and white colour scheme with that dash of yellow (reminds me of  Pantone’s Mimosa) is just sublime, don’t you think.

I can’t draw for the life of me so these pre-doodled notebooks would be perfect for me.

happy weekend

The significance of the picture (apart from the lovely colour) – real raindrops! It’s been a while and we have been blessed with some lovely rainfall over the past 24 hours. The weather is quite cold and wintry and just lovely.

So what to do? We are thinking of an outing to mark the end of the holidays with a cosy night in planned. Dinner and a movie perhaps.

Thinking about dinner – maybe this and this.

Accompanied by this.

Listening to this and this.

Probably watching this at some point while wishing it was something more like this.

Enjoy your weekend.

friday freebie ~ dinner party set

This has been one of my aims from day dot – sharing.

So every now and then, (I shan’t be to ambitious and say every week) I will have a Friday freebie. Something you can download and use yourselves – or stow away for that day that you need it. (It’s not perfect but it’s free)

And this first one – all you’ll need for a dinner party: invitations, placecards, a menu and some recipe cards to give to your guests if you feel like sharing your favourite recipe.

It is autumn here – so I am thinking more of an autumnal theme. The season is perfect for dinner parties. Cooler weather but not too nasty, lending itself to warming stews and red wine. I imagine these printed out on ivory stock.

The placecards go with the Avery business card kit 32016 or you can print them out on A4 and just cut them up.  The menus print two to an a4 sheet and the invites four to an A4 sheet. I have put tiny cut marks at the very edges to guide you. I have included a menu header as a jpg for you to use if you are a bit handy with Microsoft Word then you can type your own menu.

For some decorating ideas:

From Martha Stewart Tie the stems of two or three dried leaves along a strand of cord, then affix a heavy bead to the bottom to weight it. Repeat to make several cords, and carefully tie them to the chandelier.

Search “autumn table” for a host of other Martha ideas.

One of my favourites, Donna Hay has selection of autumnal recipes and styling tips here.

Feedback more than welcome – if something doesn’t work for you, LET ME KNOW and I will (attempt to) fix it. Or if you have any ideas, a slight modification or whatever, comment or email me.

Download the set here. (A zip file of pdfs and 1 jpg)
