In our part of the world, today marks the start of two glorious weeks of school holidays. When No.1 first started school, I panicked come holiday time ~ what would I with them for two whole weeks. No school, no extracurricular activities, all that spare time. Now, I appreciate these two weeks of freedom as much as he now does. No early starts, no packing school lunches, no pick-ups and drop-offs, all replaced with leisurely starts, days in our pyjamas and making our own fun.
I hope to get organised so I can spend time with them doing and making and looking and going. Already we have planned a couple of outings with a friend and I started writing some at-home activities down.

But I thought I would also go one step further than that, and over the next two weeks I will share with you an activity each morning as part of “project holiday”. I have trawled the www looking for ideas and now have a virtual folder stuffed with clippings, links and pictures.
I am going to kick things off with an easy one though and share a great link for some printables and some projects ~ DLTK Kids. This is a simple site with loads of categories, craft ideas, worksheets and colouring pages, some featuring some well-loved characters, that you can use for a host of activities. Download some colouring pages to keep little ones amused, or some worksheets for those bigger kids who like to play “school”.

Dear kellie. What a great idea! I hope you all enjoy the two weeks of freedom and, most importantly, have lots of fun together!
