A bit out of the box this one ~ the popular children’s toy, which started in the workshop of a Danish carpenter and went on to become a worldwide phenomenen.

But I find Lego inspiring in a number of ways.

{lego = play well}

{lego = play well}

First off ~ its origins. It had humble beginnings in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, who started making wooden toys in 1932, to 1958, when the design of the modern Lego brick was patented (although full development took a while longer), to now, where Lego is a part of video games and popular culture (a movie is now being made). Did you know that today’s Lego bricks is compatible with the bricks from 1958?

The colour and form of Lego is pretty inspiring ~ the simple figurines, the primary colours of the bricks, the translation of popular characters into Lego. And you have children, chances are you have a whole lot of inspiration scattered around their bedrooms.

And Lego inspires others in so many ways, to do so many different things.
