it’s the weekend, so why don’t you …

… have a footy party with friends.

It’s that time of year down under ~ footy finals action, the last day in September, grand finals.

I don’t follow really follow the football at all, but come September, we always gather with friends to watch the grand final. A great excuse for a bit of a social get-together.

Add some streamers and balloons in team colours and you’re all set.

But the key ingredient, apart from a good tele, is food.

Here some ideas to make for a delicious footy-watching afternoon:

May the best team win!

my creative space

Making some little notebooks with the grid/graph paper I found yesterday.You can never have enough notebooks.

I also received a package this week from the lovely package exchange from Julie which had all sorts of beautiful things in it ~ like a mini moleskeine, the most elegant eraser (don’t know if I can bring myself to use it), paper flags from Girl of All Work (which I have mentioned previously) and some lovely notecards. Just gorgeous ~ all wrapped up in the most compact little parcel. It was the most pleasant surprise and I love everything in it.

A few people have asked me about Blogging for Bliss ~ still reading it but will post some thoughts on it soon when I finish.

More creativity happening over here

paper trail: on the grid

{on the grid by me}

{on the grid by me}

I adore paper, notebooks, stationery. Officeworks and stationery shop are my favourite stores. And these days there are so many great paper products out there. So in the interests of being in a blogging groove, I thought I might have a semi-regular paper love feature.

Today, it’s all about grid paper, or graph paper. I don’t know what it is about paper filled with tiny squares ~ how neat it looks, how symmetrical, that it is used in all sorts of professions far beyond my intellectual and skill? Who knows ~ but it’s hip to be square!

… One Web Day.

In only it’s third year, One Web Day  is modelled on Earth Day and depends on people power. It celebrates online life. Its founder, Susan Crawford, is now Barack Obama’s Special Assistant for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy.

For the last three years, OneWebDay has attracted a global network of partner organisations and individual activists committed to broadening the public’s awareness of Internet and Web issues while deepening a culture of participation in building a Web that works for everyone.
