{apologies I have used this photo before, I think, but it’s mine and it fits with the theme}
Thinking of more ways to be inspired, and this week I turned to art. Don’t know what it was, but I started thinking about how these days you can often go on virtual tours of overseas galleries. And how cool is that!
Art can inspire us by the medium, the colour, the technique, or just through the artist themselves. Whether you admire the great works of Claude Monet, or are inspired by an up-and-coming artist for the sheer fact that they are pursuing their dream, there is much inspiration to be found in art.
And now we can tour great halls of world-famous galleries or even peruse the walls of more humble abodes of emerging artists, all from the comfort of your keyboard.
Here’s a selection:
- Always wanted to see the Lourve but didn’t have the airfare
- Or pop in to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
- Perhaps you would like check out a little Dali
- A little closer to home, tour the National Gallery of Australia
- Or check out more great works at the Art Lounge and Art2Muse

The great thing about inspiration is the learning curve. When I see other artist’s work, I sometimes think “I never thought to do it like that”. Then inspiration comes and the rest is, as they say, history.

Oh dear. I never knew you could do virtual tours. There I go again. The cave woman syndrome. I do surface from time to time I promise!
