Here in Australia, we are marvelling at the arrival of spring and the colourful blooms that are appearing in the garden. Spring ~ renewal, new life and all that ~ is a wonderful time for inspiration and feeling uplifted. After a drizzly, dreary end to winter, I was amazed at how motivated I was once the sun started shining and the beautiful weather took a turn smiling on us.
So ~ flowers. Inspired by their colour; their beauty; their smarts at growing, resting, hibernating; their ability to spread.

Just the other day I wrote about how the geraniums were taking over. First, I was attracted by their abundance and their beauty. But thinking about it, you also have to admire their resilience. Growing from a single step, in dry, hardy conditions, full sun or some shade ~ they are adaptable and ready to take on anything. We could all take a lesson from that.
But in flowers there is much beauty, too. And it is hard to not be inspired by the lovely palette of a charming bouquet or the senitment behind a tangle of garden flowers.

Flowers also make great subjects. I love taking photos of flowers, because you have such a perfect subject to start with, you’re halfway to a nice photo. Obviously, artists and textile designers and anyone who creates would feel the same way. So if you ever get inspiration block, try a bunch of flowers.

If you like a certain flowers, search for a group like: camellias, roses, gerberas, daffodils, or tulips to name but a few.
