In lieu of a creative space this week, i thought I would still show a peek into some creating at 74 Lime Lane this week.
We are officially into school holiday mode now, with school for both our big schooler and preschooler finishing yesterday. So this week included a mad amount of baking for end of year parties and teacher’s gifts.

For the parties, I went for a donna hay standby ~ reindeer cupcakes. Although this year I went mini, after finding most kids like the decorations a lot, the cake itself not so much. Mini-cupcakes was a great option for the littlies and less cake went to waste. Although the m & m noses might be a better idea than the larger and heavier jaffas.

For the teachers this year I decided to bake, after seeing this great idea also by donna hay. Between two children we had seven different teachers. So this was a simpler and less expensive option. And I hope, better appreciated as it was handmade.
I used donna hay’s choc chunk cookie recipe, which was similar to my favourite choc chip cookie recipe {also by her}, and did a choc chip and an m&m version, slipped them into CD envelopes from Officeworks and tied them up in red ribbon from spotlight. Made cards and tags and done.

We also finally did a spot of Christmas decorating. Although we had gotten out the Christmas trees at the start of the month, the boxes of decorations have sat in the centre of the lounge room since. We kept it simple as we are only having a small Christmas Eve celebration at our house this year, but we have gone all out with the fairy lights. I love the look of fairylights inside at night. Plus, they will hold up well right through to new year.

So now the small ones are at home, there will certainly be some creative thinking going on to keep small hands busy. Next week, I’m thinking of trying out some salt dough ornaments and then we can give them to the grandparents at Christmas dinner.

Hello! I'm Kellie and here I collect inspiration ~ beautiful photos, words on creativity, lovely printables and handmade items. I love autumn, cameras, and of course, the colour lime.
I love that you’re still rolling with the punces and getting all the Christmas stuff happening. It’s all the little extras that make the season your own. Lovely.
looks like you are having alot of fun!!!
I love the christmas things donna hay has in the mag.
hope you & your family have a great christmas Kellie, hugs ♥
lots of Christmas fun happening at your place! I love the way you packaged those cookies, it looks great.
The atmosphere captured in the decoration photos is just so… warm! I can’t wait to visit my family (taking the plane tomorrow) so we start decorating.
It’s looking very festive! I love the idea of using CD sleeves for the cookies. Will have to remember that for next year.
