inspiration files: what’s on your wall

Today’s inspiration files asks the question: What’s on your wall?

I think walls tell a lot about the people who live there, are there walls filled with family snapshots, works or art, or perhaps a mirror? Design posters, old film posters, photographs ~ the wall is one place where you can really put out there on display what you love,what your interests might be, how you live your life?

Sadly, our walls are presently rather … blank. Since we painted several months ago, Hubby has been hesitant to bang a nail in the freshly painted walls. Maybe I can inspire him to pick up that hammer and put our life and loves back on display!

Clockwise from top left: Shelf arrangements allow you to change your decor when the mood strikes, quickly and easily, I love the simplicity of this colour scheme {via emma’s blogg}; There isn’t much on this wall, but I find that simple photo so effective with this arrangement {via simple blueprint}; decorative, inspirational and educational ~ how I would love a map to take up a wall {via desire to inspire}; sometimes there is a place for order ~ particularly with a handsome row of matching artworks {via the design files}; words to live by ~ isn’t this scrabble inspired wall art just gorgeous, particularly with the simple line drawings to match each letter {via the style files}

All these have been pinned or repinned on pinterest. You can see my inspiration files pinboard here.

  2. The walls of my home are covered in my paintings.
    We have in our entry foyer a whole wall of family photos. We have used frames in different shapes, sizes and colours and it has spread across the wall like a climbing plant. I love it.
