Yesterday marked 100 days into my 365 project. (I do love a good milestone). And this is the 100th photo.
I love the way it turned out (if I do say so myself) but I also love the thinking behind it and how it came about.
First off, I was thinking of the words “document everything”. Two really indifferent words until put together had a wow factor I can’t explain.
The words came from a story I read while at work (newspaper ~ so from a wire service) about Michael Jackson’s personal photographer of more than 20 years who said Paul McCartney once told Jackson to “document everything”.
And because that is what I am doing, documenting special days, things that come into our life, mundane or extraordinary.
It’s about carrying that camera everywhere and having the confidence to whip it out and snap that moment that catches your eye. Without worrying what the person over there thinks.
It’s also why I love lists, diaries, journals, blogs, websites.
And of course ~ notebooks.
Which brings me to part two of the photo ~ the book on the bottom is new. I got it yesterday ~ it came “free” with Harper’s Bazaar. A luxury notebook ~ and despite some rather large text on the cover, it is divine. I can’t resist a lovely notebook. (I never normally buy the magazine)
Something else in which to “document everything”.

Hello! I'm Kellie and here I collect inspiration ~ beautiful photos, words on creativity, lovely printables and handmade items. I love autumn, cameras, and of course, the colour lime.
One of the things that drew me to a deeper interest in photography was my desire to “document everything”, or as I’ve said, “record memories”. Hmmm… I think I like “document everything” much better.
I’ve been feeling really stuck lately, creatively speaking, and have thought about starting my own 365 project. I do have hurdles to jump, though. I suffer from that condition that makes me wonder what “that person over there” thinks of me if I take out my camera, at a seemingly random moment.
I did finally get a blog set up for myself, now I just have to start my documenting. Anyway… I just wanted to let you know that I’ve just recently found your blog and I’ve been enjoying your photography. If you don’t mind, I might just take your suggestion and start to “document everything”!
