{photo pulp} fantastic ms film

{sky}

As promised here are some shots from my diana roll of film I took last week {yes, I did it ~ I made the time and went out and took some pictures!}.

Film is such a funny thing. There is always some element of surprise in photography, even in digital photography. From the moment you snap, the moment you capture and the moment you look at it.

But film, takes it to a while new level. You have to get through the roll, take it to the photo lab, wait for it to be developed, and finally … the moment of truth.

I was pleasantly surprised with this roll of film ~ it all worked so well.  And I had lots of fun doing it.

Sadly, the joy was short-lived. In my enthusiasm, all revved up for another run on the weekend, I couldn’t get the film to load properly. Now, my SLR is loaded with a shorter version of the said film, while I’ve got my fingers crossed on the roll in the Diana that was still making some funny noises when I wound it on.

But I guess that’s half the fun. The postman has brought me some inspiration this week. Let’s see what develops … {pun intended}.

never multi-task on a Monday

Here we are, back to Monday. Back to school, work, free time ~ whatever marks that beginning of the week for you.

Me, I had big plans. Monday signals an empty house and lots of time to do my own thing.

However, this morning I have learned that multi-tasking is not my friend. At the computer, I’m trying to do too many things at once, and quite frankly none of them are happening. I really should know better but I want to get this out, send that and fix that other problem ~ all at the same time. And no, it doesn’t work. But you probably already knew that.

In good news though, the film from Diana mini I took last week turned out a treat, I will scan some and put them up later. As Hubby said, a vast improvement on roll one. Sadly, roll three has already involved some cursing, wailing, gnashing of teeth and sprockets and film ripped out. {Followed by an inquisitive small one saying: “What is that?” “That’s film for the camera.” “But where are  the pictures?”}

I shall persevere and hope for the best on what is now roll four. Roll three took a cut and is in my SLR for hope of a better life.

First though, some housekeeping matters:

Wishing you a happy, and productive, or restful, or whatever you want it to be, Monday.
