{my creative space} things are looking a little blue?

i see blue people

Thursday has me in two minds today.

On one hand I have the day off from work, so it is great to finally be here. On the other, it’s Thursday and what have I got to show for it. I’ve been busy performing that great act of mothers everywhere ~ juggling work and school holidays all while holding onto my sanity.

Today I give into that school holiday mecca ~ the cinema ~ on this rainy day for a little trip down memory lane.

Can you guess what we’re going to see?

But when I’m not hanging out with the little people, I’m:

  • Making some more tweaks around le blog {did you notice?}
  • Preparing to send out a September issue of Lime Time Digest
  • Working on a download for Friday freebies for tomorrow
  • And thinking about a second issue of e{pulp}.

No wonder the week flies by

{my attempt at street photography withy my iPhone}

One photography style that I’m fascinated by at the moment is street photography. And more specifically, with an iPhone.

There appears to be a whole sub-genre of iPhoneography {I talked about that here} which is all about the street.

Now I have absolutely no street cred whatsoever. But that hasn’t stopped me wanting to try out this photography style.

When I try something new, I need usually prefer to do some research before, find the best techniques, get instructions from those that know. And this is no exception.

I think I’ve mentioned him before, but Dixon Hamby is my go to guy for this. I follow him on Google+ and he is talented and shares tips and tricks and what apps he uses.

A little while ago he published some basic street photography tips ~ seriously straightforward, simple and useful.

So, in an effort to get some cred and work on my street photography, this is what I’m going to do.

  1. I have to get out more. There’s not much to snap within these four walls. And while I don’t live in a thrilling metropolis, full of interesting, crazy people, I have to explore to find interesting things. Time to lose the hermit tendencies.
  2. No auto-lock, no sound, no shooting apps in folders.
  3. Taking Hamby’s recommendations, I downloaded the  Camera + Pro which has a handy, icognito big button feature and the faster picture-taking Camera Sharp
  4. Take earphones ~ so it looks like you are just listening to music and playing with your phone.
  5. Start snapping.

Tell me, where would your pick of places be to go to snap some interesting street photos.
