Last week we had one of those wonderful winter days {and the forecast was miserable} where we didn’t have to go anywhere and could just hang around home and do our thing. So I thought it would be fun to catch the ordinary moments of the day and put my new camera to use. Black and white always makes the mundane look so much more artistic, don’t you think?
The hardest part of the day? Leaving the warm and cosy confines of bed on a cold and miserable winter’s day.
Mandatory start to the day. I’ll return here more than once. {small cups}
Work, aka read the entire internet.
Pop dinner in the slow cooker. Spaghetti bolognaise. Don’t tell the kids there were mushrooms in it.
Mail from Europe. Our good friends are travelling and sending a envy-inducing postcard from each stop.
Speaking of the kids, they are here. Locked in a fierce battle in the Skylands.
Lunch. Homemade pumpkin soup and toast. Yum.
Mount Washmore. Need I say more.
The Mr is home. That time of the evening.
The Mr also took care of Mount Washmore. He’s a keeper.
Dinner. Amazing how kids will just scoff pasta and sauce. They had seconds.
And a day can’t go by without mention of our old mate. He’s not a fan of the school holidays ~ plays havoc with this nap schedule.
Ordinary moments.
Memories are the treasures that we keep locked deep within the storehouse of our souls, to keep our hearts warm when we are lonely. ~ Becky Aligada

Hello! I'm Kellie and here I collect inspiration ~ beautiful photos, words on creativity, lovely printables and handmade items. I love autumn, cameras, and of course, the colour lime.

Beautiful, Kellie. You’ve really managed to ‘romance the ordinary’ here. The results are lovely.

Thanks Alana. It was a fun project.
So lovely! Your photos are just stunning (as always) and they really capture the mood of a winters day at home. Aside from the washing it looks like a perfect day – kids, dogs, husband, wine, pasta, internets – what more could one ask for?!

Thanks Emily, you’re too sweet. At least the washing got tided up, and away. So by the end, that is sort of perfect! And I’m such a hibernator, love a good day at home!
I follow closely but rarely comment. We’re having one of “those” days here – although it’s summer holidays here in Canada. Still a miserable day yesterday with endless rain and flooding basements. So today my son and I are taking a day to chill out and recover (and dry out). Still, Mount Washmore (I LOVE THAT) needs to be dealt with….unfortunately my Mr. doesn’t do that, BUT he will seal basement windows and tell me not to worry about the basement. Guess he’s a keeper too.
Lovely images, as always, Enjoy the time with your kids.
Thank you Jodie, and thanks for popping in! Miserable weather days are cosy in winter but not much fun in summer I’m sure! And flooding basements! Our garage has water go through it when it is really wet but unfortunately, I think it has something to do with living on the hill. At least he’s handy and can get the job done! They all have their talents! Enjoy the rest of your holidays, I hope the weather improves!
