You know how sometimes things never turn out the way you expect them. Not necessarily the big things, but the little things as well.
Last week, as I’ve mentioned here, there and everywhere, we went out chasing sunsets. It was great to just throw my gear in the car and go driving, looking for that perfect capture.
Truth be told we left it a little late but nevermind, it was, like all things, a learning experience.
Now I shared one photo on the weekend so rather than bore you with a collection of sunset photos where you could play spot the difference, I give you “a tale of two bridges” instead, which is actually just the same bridge two different ways.
I snapped this on the way home. In the car. And there are so many things wrong with it, technically speaking, but I’m a little taken with it anyway.
But the tale? Colour or …
… black and white.
At first, looking at it in-camera, I thought black and white. Those structural beams, that clear sky. But now, I’m a bit partial to the the soft washed out colour of the evening. The softness doesn’t translate as well in black and white, to my mind.
What about you, what do you think?
Meanwhile, the Monday morning link pack:

Hello! I'm Kellie and here I collect inspiration ~ beautiful photos, words on creativity, lovely printables and handmade items. I love autumn, cameras, and of course, the colour lime.

Thanks so much for the share of our sunset photos from Oz. Love your two bridges shot!
Caz Makepeace is talking about ..6 Sunset Photos from Australia’s Top End
Thanks Caz. And a pleasure!
I do prefer the color version as well. It’s so soft you almost don’t notice it until it’s compared to the black and white version.
gretchen/june at noon is talking about ..Crisped
So true Gretchen, it’s so washed out it almost monochromatic itself. And the blur adds to the softness. I find it a tad distracting the black and white, would have been better as a crisp shot (will have to go back and do it again!)
