spring into the first creative collective project

Hi everyone, welcome to the inaugural Creative Collective challenge.

So this morning I introduced the Creative Collective. Now the first project.

The theme is SPRING. Create something spring-inspired and share it via the flickr group or facebook page and on your blog. Feel free to post a link to your project below. You can pop back and check this post at anytime via the button in the sidebar. Feel free to grab a button for your blog if you are participating.

The project runs until October 31. The members of the Collective will each choose 5 projects to feature on each of our blogs at the end of the month. And don’t think we’re getting off the hook ~ each of us is going to make something as well.

I don’t know about you but I find spring a very inspiring time ~ the glorious weather, the flowers blooming, the colours. It’s hard not to be motivated and get out and do things at this time of year {despite the onset of hayfever!} And this isn’t for the southern hemisphere only! We know the leaves are turning in the north but I am sure you have some great spring memories to share.

So are you ready ~ go out and create.

pay it forward

Now who doesn’t like to receive a little something special in the mail. Not to mention, the fun in making something for someone else!

I’m joining in with Vic with a little “pay it forward”.

Basically:

  • I will make a handmade gift for the first 3 people who comment on this post.
  • I have 365 days in which to do it
  • What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise!

The catch is that you must participate as well ~ you must also pay it forward. Write up a little pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going.

Now no surprises what will be in a little package from moi. It usually arrives flat and you can stick it up on your wall if you so desire. But I will thrown in a couple of other special things as well. {international is fine, too}

Comment below to join in the fun.

on this eve of new year

Happy New Year’s Eve! Got plans, planning a little shindig, heading out on the town, or maybe just curling up on the couch with a quiet drink and a list of resolutions {or perhaps something or someone nicer!}

Whatever you are doing, I thought I would quickly pop in with a very quick New Year’s Eve round-up.

quick christmas craft with the kids

So the long holidays have started and it’s still a couple of days until Christmas. And already the kids are driving me up the wall.

On my list of things to do this week was make some salt dough ornaments which I thought would be a cute place setting favour at our Christmas dinner {which will actually be Christmas Eve}.

Which got me thinking to what else could keep small, idle hands busy in the lead up to the big day that had would also help get them in the Christmas spirit.

it’s the weekend, and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Wow, the last weekend in November, and that means soon it will be time to get out the Christmas decorations, trim the tree and all that jazz. [We have a rule/tradition in our house ~ December 1 or thereabouts, depending on schedules, is tree time]

So this weekend, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas decorations.

Here’s some ideas the www has thrown up:

If you have some decorations to share, leave a link in the comments.
