{top 5} talking about love …

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, and my wedding anniversary also this month, I’m feeling a little sappy today so I’ve pulled together some quotes on love.

But not only that, each of these little images is available for download. Just click on the image or head over to the 74 Lime Lane Google+ page.

{tuesday’s top 5} school’s in ~ A-grade tips and tricks

back to school

Can you hear that? The collective sighs of relief from mums across the nation as the smalls head back to school. For us, it was like they had never left, I packed them up on Monday and off they went. Back to routine, just like that <inset finger snap here>. And so far it’s not too bad, but I won’t always be this organised. So I’ve bookmarked some tips here that I’ve spotted around the web this week  so perhaps I can start as I mean to go on!

  1. Mornings are not my thing so loving this series on “Make the Most of your Mornings” series on Tam’s blog Around here
  2. Lunch organisation with Kate Says Stuff ~ this is something I need to try, see point 1.
  3. Maddie at Lil Magooglie has rounded up some fabulous bento blogs for lunch ideas
  4. Some fun jokes and notes you can print out and pop in their lunch boxes
  5. Kate and her readers are sharing back to school snacks over at picklebums

And Nic has a great round-up of parent resources on Planning with Kids for children of all ages.

{tuesday’s top 5} all about summer

{top 5} all about summer

I know, I know, it’s Wednesday. I think. Have to remind myself several times a day what day it actually it is. And frankly, I am running about a day behind in things anyway at the moment. I blame the holidays. And summer.

So today, we’re having a summer fling, for whether you are at home or travelling. Summer has  made a rather late appearance to the our part of the world but for our northern friends, you can still enjoy a taste of summer with these five ideas.

  1. Too many mosquitoes ~ there’s an app for that
  2. Make a Gin Gimlet
  3. And top it with a pretty parasol
  4. Accompany it with some tasty salads from Shutterbean
  5. And then send a  postcard telling everyone what a great time you are having  ~ printable from frolic

And as a bonus ~ hold an outdoor movie night

{top 5} ways to document 2012

365 project

New year is the perfect time to start something new. And it’s not too late to get started.

Here’s five ways to document life in 2012:

  1. Start a 365 project: Document it on flickr or your blog, or if you have an iPhone, or try the Photo 365 app
  2. Take a portrait : Maybe of you or maybe of your children. Again there is an app for that ~ look for the Everyday app which has some great self-portrait features. Or get the whole family involved and take a photo once a week, once a month or once a year like Diego Goldberg’s Arrow of Time
  3. Start a new blog for free on Blogger or WordPress
  4. Document life: one line at a time with this perpetual journal idea using index cards {via one crafty mumma}
  5. Food fun: document favourite food moments, like Tracy at Shutterbean, or try a new vegetable each week like Jodie from Muddled up Mumma.

Are you embarking on a new year or 365 project? Would love you to share your tips and ideas.
