{lime rewind} required Christmas viewing

I posted this two years ago and was recenty reminded of it again. It seems it is as much of a tradition for me to forget about it than watching the movie itself.

Anyway, long story short, it’s too lovely not to share again. And it’s a lovely gentle, but festive, introduction to the week.

The Snowman is one of my favourite Christmas movies. And it’s beauty and simplicity particularly poignant at this time.

The Snowman is a children’s book by Raymond Briggs, adapted into a short, animated film {both are wordless} and first shown on TV on Christmas Eve in 1982. It was even nominated for an Oscar.

The scene above which features the song Walking on the Air is just a snippet of this film’s beautiful music and  illustration.

You can read more about The Snowman here and watch it on You Tube here {the links from the original post have since been removed}.
