{the pulp} where my inspiration comes from

Over at the Creative Collective we’re sharing where we find our inspiration. So I was “inspired” to sit down and think about my own inspirations.

  1. Family: I couldn’t do half of what I do without the support of my husband and my two boys and all of them are fabulous in finding and pointing out things for me to photograph, which is I always find really special. Not only that, we are seeing my work as the inspiration for some of the creative works they are coming out with.
  2. Notebooks: A fresh notebook, a pile of notebooks, scribbling ideas down, plotting, shopping for notebooks, I love notebooks and they help me think in a way my iDevices don’t quite allow.
  3. Internet: Almost no list is complete without listing the net these days and for me it is everything about the internet ~ the information at my fingertips, the community and then sites like Pinterest and flickr and not to mention the countless blogs and links I read each and every day.
  4. Nature: I mentioned this also here but whenever I’m in a photography funk, I can always find something to photograph outside. Mother Nature never lets me down.
  5. Cameras: Naturally I love cameras and I love my little growing collection, as well as the six or seven I carry around to actually photograph things {yes it is a very heavy bag}. I’m always inspired my a new camera or a new techinque or a new roll of film.

There’s five things that inspire me. Care to share what inspires you? You can link up over here.

74 Lime Lane ~ September calendar

September 1 means the first day of spring here in Australia. So a little bit of lovely green to grace the September calendar. I actually paired it with this quote in its various guises:

Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain.
~ Henry David Thoreau

It also means a new project for the Creative Collective, and this month it’s all about the boys. Find out more here.

{74 Lime Lane calendar is for personal use only, feel free to share but please link back to this post. Thanks!}

hello august

74 Lime Lane ~ August calendar

Did you know August was named thus, after all the changes and adding of months in the calendar, in 8 BC after Augustus, the first Emperor of the Roman Empire.

I’m hoping to distract you with a little fact while we all come to terms with the fact it is already August! On the plus side, the days are getting longer here down under, and spring is around the corner. Don’t get me wrong, I love the cold and winter, but got to say it doesn’t do much for my photography mojo. And for that, I’m looking forward to the brighter landscape that is spring.
