Do you have words you love to say aloud? Serendipity is one of my favourite words. Although I’ve always loved the way the word onomatopoeia rolls off the tongue.

Truth be told, I’m terrible at pronunciation, which is why I stuck with print journalism rather than broadcast!

I can’t tell you how much this image sums me up!

I mean, I love being at home with my little family. But during the week, when the kids are in school, I relish just staying at home, by myself, for those six hours they are gone, content not to go anywhere or see anyone.

It might be my only child upbringing, it might be my introvert side, I don’t know, but I more than happy with my own company. And the internet!

This week was of course a big week with Lime Lane making the Top 100 for Kidspot’s Voices of 2013 in the Creative and Home category.

And to celebrate, I’ve got a special ad deal. Use the code “Voices13″ and get 20% off any ad space here on the blog. Go here to get all the details and book a space.

This week:

No posts from Life at Lime Lane this week, not any that were published, just a lot of half-written drafts. Stay tuned.

seeds // it’s your voice

Dave Grohl, or Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, gave a keynote at SXSW, about his story as a musician. I’ll admit I’m a bit of a fan, which you would know if you follow me on social media where i have already overshared this link!

But this speech blew me away and I can’t stop thinking about it and am making plans to watch it again.

It runs for about about 45 minutes and there is lots of rock star swearing, but it’s a great story with a great message.

It’s YOUR VOICE. Cherish it. Respect it. Nurture it. Challenge it. Stretch it and scream until it’s gone. Because everyone is blessed with at least that, and who knows how long it will last . . .
