happy new year ~ make it sparkle

sparkly new year

So here we are in 2012. I want to wish you all a happy new year and may it sparkle with light, happiness, good health and creativity.

A new year brings the ultimate fresh start and new beginnings. I’m in the midst of a little renovation here at Lime Lane so if things look a little hinky in the next 24 to 48 hours that’s why.

I have big plans for 2012 and I hope you will be along to share the ride.

Let the sparkle begin.

{monday} what’s goin’ on + November calendar download

battle lines

Today has dawned like an other ordinary day but what is hides behind it’s clear sunrise is a state of chaos with lots going on.

Just your average Monday playing out in homes all over the world.

Around these part I’m doing a little housekeeping {oh not the housework kind, that can wait, the fun stuff around here}. The mini-makeover I started a few weeks ago I hope to complete this week. If you were here on the weekend, you would have noticed I changed up the weekend posts. And in going forward I took a couple of steps back. I think it is a delayed reaction to the blogging event, but I’m trying to get a clearer picture of what I’m doing here. Apart from rambling …

  • Instead of one big weekend edition of zest, I’m going to break it up into two posts. On Saturday, a curated collection of links for your weekend reading ~ the returns of lime link love ~ that I hope will inspire you and enhance your weekend. On Sundays, a quick collection of tweets {zesty tweets}  from the week, some links and tips you might have missed. Skim at your pleasure. I would love to hear your thoughts.
  • Today is also Halloween, not that we do anything here and only some years might we get the occasional trick or treater. Thankfully the smalls haven’t really caught on to the craze. Alison’s thoughts on this sum it up well, I think.
  • That also means the end of blogtoberfest! I have so enjoyed my month of quotes. Although I may need another month to catch up on all the visiting!
  • Tomorrow is November ~ eek ~ and also the day I become the mother of a nine-year-old. Double eek. Where did that time go? So before I get stuck into wrapping presents and making party plans, here is the new month’s calendar, in the hope you might be more organised than me!

And I’m working on something new this week. Sign up to the newsletter to get the news first.

So lots of changes happening here and all of it involves taking the next step forward. It pays to be stop every now and then in the midst of the chaos and savour the excitement, too.

What things chaotic and exciting are happening in your part of the world this week?

{creative collective update} it’s time to finish!

New month means a new project over at the Creative Collective. It’s time to finish ~ all those WIPs, all those half-finished projects in the back of the cupboard, time to get them out and get them done.

Details over here.

new month, new project

{inspiration files} a studio of one’s own

astudioofonesownMany a time I’ve eyed off the children’s cubbyhouse out the back as the spot for an ~ albeit ~ very small studio. Built by an actual builder for the space, it is a gabled roof construction with a small verandah, windows and a door. And I can stand up in it.

I think it would be lovely to be able to wander outside away from the maddening crowd in the house to a perfectly decorated oasis in the back yard.

That sound ~ was my dream bubble bursting.

But hey, they will grow up and move out one day…
