{lime pulp} new year, new look

take a look

I’m kicking off 2012 with a fresh new look so if you are reading through an RSS feed, pop over and check out the renovation.

And along with a new look, will come new categories and a new posting schedule. All the categories have been re-organised into seven broader categories, you can see them up there, and hopefully the re-design will be more stable and faster to load.

Not much will change, however, but my aim is for Lime Lane to be a destination for inspiration, be it with lovely things or motivating words, with a few photography and technology snippets thrown in.

And if you haven’t already, make sure you subscribe to a feed  or to the weekly Lime Time newsletter over there in the sidebar.

Let’s get this show on the road, shall we.

happy new year ~ make it sparkle

sparkly new year

So here we are in 2012. I want to wish you all a happy new year and may it sparkle with light, happiness, good health and creativity.

A new year brings the ultimate fresh start and new beginnings. I’m in the midst of a little renovation here at Lime Lane so if things look a little hinky in the next 24 to 48 hours that’s why.

I have big plans for 2012 and I hope you will be along to share the ride.

Let the sparkle begin.

{re-lime rewind} an introduction

rewind

Well we are on the other side of Christmas and in the final week of 2011. Where did it go?

I’ve been thinking about what to do this here on the blog ~ take a week off, post around a simple theme or revisit the archives. Things are quiet and we have some family visiting to do so I wanted something easy.

With the readership growing, I thought a bit of a 2011 rewind might be fun. Each day I’m going to share a popular post from the archives, based on comments or visits. Might be fun to rummage around in the closet of posts and reminisce on some of the year’s posts.

I’ll kick off with a top 5 tomorrow.

In the meantime, if you want to start 2012 off with  a dose of pretty, pop over to Epheriell Designs where you have the chance to win one of my 2012 photo calendars.

And what did  you get for Christmas. I was completely spoilt ~ a beautiful necklace from koolaman designs and a Fuji Instax Mini! Yes, Hubby added to my camera collection.

I hope you are enjoying some down time however you are spending the holidays.

Don’t forget to find me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for more holiday fun.

{monday} tis the gift giving season ~ another treats download

christmasbaubles

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But holidays are so delightful,

With apologies to Sammy Cahn and Jule Style, it’s not snowing, although with this weather anything is possible this Christmas, but it is a little gloomy outside. But who cares, because school holidays have started and since we’ve got no place to go, we are enjoying a morning of hanging about in our pyjamas with a game of monopoly planned {today’s advent calendar surprise}.

The big news of today is of course it’s Christmas week. How exciting. And the preparations are in full swing. And I couldn’t resist another little download.

Just like the reindeer noses, this time it’s Christmas baubles. I kept seeing little chocolate Christmas balls on the shelves so thought a bag topper was in order. I gave some of these out to the neighbours. My local Coles actually had chcolate Christmas baubles but I think chocolate balls, skittles, m & m’s or just about anything else would suffice.

Get the Christmas bauble bag toppers here

gingerbreadhouse

I’m gearing up for a fun week with the smalls ~ on the agenda is  our annual Santa photo, movies and some Christmas fun. Yesterday we made our first gingerbread house. I bought a kit which was a cinch to put together and let them loose with the decorating. It is to be our Christmas centrepiece.

In other news:

  • I bought some fairy lights and some green paper lanterns for my study, a Christmas gift to myself {remember my random thoughts}
  • As it gets closer to Christmas, my DIY calendar gets popular. Print the pdf and decorate with children’s drawings or photos. Get it on on the website | etsy
  • If you need a 2012 calendar, you can get my download here
  • There’s lots of Christmas ideas over at the Creative Collective this month with guest posters every day
  • And you need more Christmas ideas, check out the #74funthings hashtag on Twitter. Saturday’s list was all about Christmas crafts
