{paper trail} vintage ephemera with saratops

{paper trail} saratops

Rookie mistake ~ I thought these items from saratops were actually in my “You might like” stream. Let’s just say they are now.

If you haven’t seen it, saratops is currently the featured seller on Etsy.

But that’s how I  found, and maybe bought, some lovely items from this shop filled with vintage map bunting, notebooks made from security envelopes and library cards and banners made from book pages.

Sara, who lives in LA, says she is inspired by the vintage ephemera she finds and uses in her items.

I love yellowed paper, old ticket stubs, and previously loved books. My materials alone inspire me to think of how they can be reused and given a new life.

Be sure to pop over and browse saratops’ shop.

{paper trail} the one where I’m supposed to be doing my taxes …

{paper trail} procrastination plus ~ it's tax time

The end of June means the end of the financial year here in Australia, which means tax return time. Now I am the most hopeless procrastinator when it comes to doing taxes. And I set aside time today to get things organised for the impending approach of the EOFY {not the snazziest acronym in the world, is it?}

But, as any good procrastinator would, in the face of daunting and tedious task, I instead searched all my favourite places for some lovely things that would make tax time a little more fun and a little brighter.

So what do I need to get my taxes in order, let’s see:

Well first, I need something to add up all those figures, so how about a vintage Hermes adding machine from 2 little owls {1}, and I can keep track of my figures in a Düller Croquis Notebook from Vetted {2}, using a set of a test scoring pencils from The Museum of Useful Things {3}, then I could file away my receipts and bits and bobs using Cavallini and Co’s vintage office stamps from paper 2 {4}, stay organised with Kikki-K’s finance adhesive tags {5}, keep all my notes together in this document case from The LetterBox Co {6}, and then stay on track with the Behance Action Journal from Notemaker {7}.

Guess I can’t put it off any longer, I’m off to jump into a pile of receipts. Wish me a soft landing.

{paper trail} looked the world over and it was right here

{paper trail} peace, love and letterpress

All about the paper again this week. But I figure that’s okay cause we all love the paper, right!

Right now I’m loving the items over at Peace, Love and Letterpress ~ found via August Empress ~ a letterpress studio based right here in Australia.

Now let me tell you a little story.

I was cleaning out my inbox {still struggling to get my head around our new email program} and came across a little reminder I had sent to myself.

Subject: Cards

With a link.

Naturally, I can’t quite remember what it was all about so I clicked. It was familiar. Then I remembered ~ this great range of world-themed cards. I wanted to buy one for someone.

So I click, grab another little something, checkout. Feel pretty fabulous about how organised I am because I don’t actually need the card for another few weeks.

And then, during the checkout process, I noted that it was on Australian dollars, Australia was the first country on the list, it found my state without difficulty. Hmm, must have picked up my IP address.

I’m ashamed to admit it, because honestly the dot au should have given it away, but I never realised this lovely little letterpress studio was right here in Australia.

You must check their fabulous range of cards, their design your own stationery line and they also do custom work. And have a blog.

So I’m all about the paper love today, but that’s okay, we all love paper, right?

It may not be afternoon yet in your part of the world, but here we are smack bang in the middle of the week, and these posters by ReStyle are the perfect antidote to a “hump day” afternoon.

ReStyle is Jan, a graphic designer from the Czech Republic who also is behind one of my new-to-me favourite blogs Design Attractor.

Head over to ReStyle and check out the great range of posters.

{paper trail} honolulu baby ~ these pets are heading to hawaii

More fun from those clever people at Mibo ~ a jet-setting group apparently better travelled than me!

The Jet Set Pets ~ Dougie the Dog, Camille the Cat, Ruby the Rabbit and Hercules the Hamster ~ are getting ready for a trip to Hawaii and come with luggage, hats, a camera and tiny pet passports.

Hard to catch the winter blues with these guys around.
